Today we had a really nice seminar on menstrual hygiene. About 40 women from different villages joined us and talked about their menstrual problems, fears and practices – taboo issues in Tamil society! Many of them were happy to share their experiences, learn where their blood comes from and discover many new things like herbal remedies for stomach cramps, tampons… or Moon Cups (picture).

First they were extremely shy, but during the day they opened up and shared about their plans and experiences. Men serving womenAt the end of the program we were so surprised, when some men even got up to serve food to the hosting women. What a gesture of respect!
