Goals and Objectives

The overall goals of AVAG’s capacity building programmes are to expand each beneficiary’s social perspective and technical ability through a series of seminars, meetings, workshops, and trainings, which comprise an integral education that nurtures each individual’s capacity for self-empowerment. Many of AVAG’s capacity building programmes are given to AVAG staff at every level, as well.

Men's Programmes

AVAG presents these goals through a multi-faceted educational approach, the objectives of which are:

  • To explain the intentions and implementation of AVAG’s programmes and relate their relevance to beneficiaries’ lives.
  • To empower beneficiaries by increasing knowledge of technical skills needed to navigate through AVAG’s programmes and modern Indian society.
  • To create awareness of and engage participants in discussions of social issues such as gender and caste sensitisation, and human rights.
  • To cultivate strong leadership qualities, skills for social analysis and communication, and team building.
  • To expose participants to interactions with people and places of interest beyond their immediate communities.
  • To expand knowledge of environmental degradation and global warming.
